LAGOS– THE Lagos State security outfit, the Rapid Response Squad RRS has raised the alarm over a fake recruitment portal purportedly opened by the Squad to recruit new intakes. Sources said the portal was opened on a Facebook account with details on how prospective candidates could log in to fill their application forms for the recruitment exercise.
Commander of the Unit, CSP Egbeyemi Olayinka in a statement personally signed and made available to CrimeWorld magazine online urged members of the public to discountenance the publication referring it to as a scam. He said, “The attention of Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has been drawn to a Facebook platform purporting to be offering recruitment into Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS). We like to warn that recruitment as RRS Police man/woman is done exclusive by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and it’s always well advertised while recruitment as RRS Supernumerary personnel (SPY), which is for drivers and riders is wholly a Lagos State Government exercise. It’s not done via Social Media Platform. Let it be clear that whoever transact business or pay for recruitment into Lagos RRS either as police man or SPY via such platforms is only doing so at his/her own risk.”Neither the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) nor Lagos State Government nor Lagos RRS is culpable of such venture. You are warned in your own interest not to patronize fraudsters, CSP Egbeyemi added.”
