*Mr. Jerry Nwaru Nnamdi…
AN Igbosere Chief Magistrate Court, Lagos sitting before Magistrate Mrs. K.O Doja Ojo has remanded the Ketu branch manager of the Access bank Plc Mr. Nwaru Jerry Nnamdi, in Police custody over allegation of pilfering his employer’s N14 million meant to be lodged in an Automated Teller Machine ATM vault. Sources said the 34 year old banker allegedly committed the fraud between May and December 2019 while refilling the ATM vault adding that he falsified documents to cover up the act. However, the lid was blown open after forensic auditors from the bank’s head office went through his account books and discovered the infractions. The discovery it was gathered, led to a petition to the Ikoyi Police Divisional Headquarters following which the DPO, CSP Tijani Mustapha N`abba through Inspector Afolayan Babashola got the suspect arrested. But when he was brought to court Wednesday for arraignment, the presiding Magistrate declined to hear the charges saying the matter had to wait till when the federal government finally lifts the lockdown order occasioned by the covid-19 pandemic for proper arraignment. She therefore, ordered that the suspect should be remanded in Police custody.
