THE covert channel through which hard drugs especially, India hemp was being conveyed to the Boko Haram insurgents had been punctured by operatives National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA. Sources said no fewer than 21 persons were rounded up, in the sting operation help by operatives of the anti-narcotic agency in Jalingo during which 229.6 kilograms of hard drugs and other psychotropic substances were seized. The arrested suspects were paraded alongside the seized hard drugs by the state Commander of the agency, Mr. Sulieman Jadi. During the parade, the suspects confessed to the crime adding that they have been in the business of supplying hard drugs to the insurgents for some time now. The kingpin of the group, Mohammed Ibrahim who blamed unemployment for his involvement in the illict drug trafficking however, pleaded for mercy adding that he was ready to turn a new leaf if given a second chance. CrimeWorld scooped that a total number of 153 compressed blocks of Cannabis Sativa, also known as Marijuana were recovered from him alone. In the meantime, Commander Sulieman said the suspects will soon have their day in the court even as he also blamed peer group influence induced by unemployment as major cause of crime and criminality.
