Police go after secrete cult members in Bayelsa, arrest teenage cultists, 9 others

THE new Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Police Command, CP Don Awunah has intensified onslaught against secretes cult members in the state arresting two teenage cultists and eight others. Most the suspected cultists it was learnt were rounded up at their various initiation grounds. The Police boss in a statement obtained by CrimeWorld vowed that it would no longer be business as usual in that state advising cultists to either eschew cant or renounce membership and flee the state.  The Police boss who maintains a yet to be rivaled record against the menace of cult and cult-related activities while serving at the Akwa-Ibom State Command said he was in Bayelsa to fight crimes to the letter stressing that he would institutionalize peace and tranquility in the state and environs within the period of his service in the state.  He gave the names of the suspects arrested as Messrs. Gospel Peter, 28, Chijoke Egi, 22, Felix Obeni 23 and Henry Chukwu 20years. Others are, Joe Gilbert 25, Moses Look-me-stay 25, James Okafor 20, Felix Akpode, Lucky Iniokan, Alias wala- wala and Meshak Kiaria, Godgift Abari  18 and Godstime Ikwegbu 17years. It was further gathered that dangerous weapons including several locally made pistols cut to size, axes, cutlasses, cudgels and their respective paraphernalia peculiar to each cult group were recovered from the suspects. CP Awunah said the suspects would be arraigned at the end of investigation to serve as deterrent
