LAGOS-NIGERIANS have been urged to remember the Armed Forces and other security agencies in prayers as Nigerians join other Christian faithful to celebrate the Christmas festivity. The need for the reminder, according to the Converner, Prayer and Support For the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security agencies PSNAFSA, Ambassador Mary Abayomi Fatile became necessary following the doggedness with which terrorism and other violent crimes in Nigeria are being tackled. She spoke at a press conference in Ikeja area of Lagos.
Ambassador Fatile noted that “Come rain, come shine, these people are there. As I speak, these military personnel are in the bushes, jungles and creeks protecting us and the nation’s assets. Some of them have not gone home for years, let alone see their loved ones.” The Converner therefore, appealed to Nigerians to always show love rather than castigating and criticising them, adding, “It will be nice to also extend the love to the personnel’s extended family. “In the United States of America and other sane climes, security agents are celebrated and honoured,” she stressed. Ambassador Fatile expressed condolences to traditional rulers and people of Tudun Boris community in Igabi Local Government area of Kaduna State that lost their loved ones in the off the mark bombing; saying, “The Lord Almighty will comfort them and heal the wounded ones. Affliction of such will never arise again.”
This is even as the convener appreciated the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS General Christopher Musa and the Service Chiefs for their good work in the onslaught against insurgency since they assumed office, expressing optimism that with the efforts put in place, insecurity would soon a thing of the past.
