LAGOS– KC gaming Network Nigeria Limited popularly known as Bet9ja is currently enmeshed in seven million six hundred and sixty naira (N7,650, 000.00) controversy being contested by one man simply identified as Anthony and Oyendikachi Nnatu who reportedly won the money sometime last year.
It was gathered that Oyendikachi Nnatu had played the game sometime last year at Komolafe Street, Aiyetoro, Badagry Lagos and won the stated amount without being paid as it is the Customs.
However, upon persistent pressure from Anthony an agent of Bet9ja to pay the money so he could remit same to the winner, Bet9ja was reported to have reluctantly paid the said sum into Anthony’s account to that effect.
In the mean time, rather than pay the said sum into Onyedukachi Nnatu’s account as the authentic winner of the game, Anthony reportedly bolted away with money to Ghana preparatory to leave for the US.
It was further learnd that Anthony’s grouse stemmed from the fact that some senior agents of Bet9ja in the area were wont to fraudulent pull out money from the general system anytime clients win from his own shed adding that he had reported the act to Bet9ja severally without them taking any decisive action.
At the end of the day, Police detectives attached to Area ‘C’ Command Headquarters reportedly tracked and had Anthony arrested insisting that he pays the money to the rightful owner. Whereas, Mr. Anthony reportedly agreed to do a refund, he was said to be asking Bet9ja management to sanction those agents who were pulling money won in his shed and seeks refund as well.
Police sources hinted that Anthony has paid N1.5m (One million five hundred naira) out of the money saying that he had about $2000 US Dollars stashed in his Binnance account and intends to pull it out and add same to the amount already.
The matter was however, charged to court today March 30,2023, following Mr. Anthiny’s inability to meet up with the payment. He was granted bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum. The matter had been adjourned to April 21,2023 for hearing.
