LAGOS- THREE persons whose identities had yet to be ascertained have been electrocuted in Lagos after a 11kv cable cuts off and landed on the ground. Several others reportedly sustained injuries while scampering to safety.
The cause of the sudden cut of the cable could not be immediately known but sources said it happened at about some minutes close to 12 midnight after the Monday night down pour which was accompanied by heavy storm adding that it happened at the thickly populated Obalende area, a suburb in Lagos metropolis.
CrimeWorld magazine online learnt that immediately the sad incident, officials of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company which oversees the area were contacted adding that they promptly disconnected power supply to the affected region and cordoned off the scene.
Frantic effort to get the reaction of the Lagos state Police Command PRO, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu hit the brick wall as usual as his handset rang out un-responded to. He had yet to also respond to a text message send to his handset as of the time of this report. But a source informed that the dead had been deposited at the Island General hospital for autopsy while the injured had also been admitted for medical attention.
