Police sources said this hijackers identified as Messrs Ozioma Umez, Uchenna Idenyi, Chibuike Nwamgbo and Chiolada Nomha met their waterloo after they allegedly hijacked a Dangote truck loaded with 900 bags of cement somewhere in Edo State having beaten and tied both the driver of the truck and his conductor with a rope in the bush.*The arrested suspects…Read Also >>How man murdered own cousin over N2m land deal, buried him in shallow grave to conceal actThey were said to have driven the truck to somewhere in Illah, a sleepy community in Delta State negotiating for the sale of the bags of cement when Policemen who had earlier been tipped-off swooped on them.A statement by the Command’s PRO DSP Bright Adafe made available to CrimeWorld magazine online said immediately the thieves sighted a Police van approaching their stolen truck, they jumped into the bus but were given a hot chase by the combined efforts of the local vigilante and the Police; following which they were rounded up in the thick forest.According to DSP Adafe, the incident happened on “On 31/08/2021 at about 0930hrs while Illah Divisional patrol team was on routine patrol along Illah-Asaba road; they received a report from one Bature Ibrahim a driver of Dangote company truck, that at about 0300hrs of the same date while trying to park his truck with Reg. On sighting the patrol vehicle the suspects jumped into the bush and took to their heels, the police in a combined effort with the local vigilantes chased them and four (4) suspects namely Ozioma Umez ‘m’, Uchenna Idenyi ‘m’, Chibuike Nwamgbo ‘m’ and Chiolada Nomha ‘m’ were arrested in connection with the crime. Two (2) cutlasses were also recovered from the suspects. Investigation is ongoing.”Continuing, Adafe added, “The CP urges residents of the state to be vigilant at all times and to be security conscious.
