FOR Sylvester Ehiarinmian, a 43 year-old sly love scammer who deceptively professed marriage to a USA based Nigerian husband seeking averagely rich lady, it was game up. Though the circumstances of the father of four meeting with the single and searching foreign based Nigeria was not disclosed, sources said the suspect unwittingly promised the lady some form of security for her landed properties in Abuja following which they both fell in love. However, the lid was blown open after the lady discovered that the love entanglement had become unrequited and was becoming a rip-off even as she had committed so much emotions and finances into it. CrimeWorld gathered that in the midst of the confusion, the distraught husband seeking USA based Nigerian businesswoman was advised to seek Police assistance to secure her property in the possession of the love scammer even if she might not be able to pull through the traumatic emotions while the ‘marriage proposal’ lasted. A statement by the Zonal PRO DSP Hauwa Idris Adamu and made available to CrimeWorld said the arrest of the cun-lover by operatives attached to the Zonal Monitoring Unit followed a petition to the AIG Ahmed Illyasu in charge of Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onika, Lagos. The statement said, “This is a case of obtaining money under false pretense reported via petition addressed to the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Command Onikan Lagos by a United States-based Nigerian lady, who has a vision of setting up a business back home. She owns a farm in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Precariously, she was introduced to the suspect, one Sylvester Ehiarinmian, male, 43, as capable of providing her with security to and from the farm. Sylvester made love advances to her despite being married with children and promised marrying her. Naively, the lady swayed into the fraudulent Sylvester’s net and was defrauded. When the veil was blown off her face, the lady forwarded a petition to the office of the AIG who instructed the Zonal Tactical/Monitoring Unit to go after the suspect, from whom four Toyota Sienna Space buses, one Toyota Highlander SUV and landed properties, comprising a storey building with an undeveloped plot of land, both in Apo area of Abuja and another two plots in Wasa area of Abuja, all belonging to the victim, were recovered from the suspect. Yet to be recovered from him are: One Mikano Generating set, Two Duplexes in South Africa, sum of $15,000 US Dollars he fraudulently obtained from the petitioner to procure visa for her sister, another $10,000 US Dollars he proposed to purchase carpets for an office they both agreed to operate and N40million for the establishment of a Medical Laboratory.”
