Pat. Agbambu of SWA emerges CrimeWorld’s best Security programme presenter, 2017

ACE broadcaster and presenter of security programme on Africa Independent Television AIT, under the platform of Security Watch Africa, Mr. Patrick Agbambu has won CrimeWorld’s  Hallmark of Excellence Award as the best security programme presenter (TV) 2017.  The ceremony which took place at the prestigious banquet hall of Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja Lagos on December 7, 2017  was the official public presentation of CrimeWorld; Nigeria’s first and only wholly crime and security magazine and weekly newspapers which hit the newsstand nationwide since 2013. Other award recipients included but not limited to Sir (Dr) Mike Okiro, former Inspector-General of Police and present Chairman, Police Service Commission; for his role in modern intelligence policing in Nigeria and ‘his pupil’, Dr. Solomon Arase, Inspector-General of Police IGP (Retd); for re-echoing community-laced- intelligence policing in the country. Others are, His Excellencies, Deacon Udom Emmanuel Gabriel, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, for massive infrastructural development and security management, Dr. Ayodele Fayose, Executive Governor of Ekiti State, for his sclerotic stance on the menace of Fulani herdsmen and of course, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, for being the most security conscious Governor of the year, 2017.

Speaking on the award, Publisher/Editor-in-chief of CrimeWorld, Prince Albert Obiajulu Uba said Mr. Agbambu was chosen based on merit especially his fair presentation, content and resilience. According to him, “The programme, SWA has not only endeared itself in the hearts of all and sundry especially Africans through some level of education, it has equally engendered security consciousness and awareness so much so that, people looked forward to the programme every Saturday of the week. He deserved the award.”

Responding, a visibly elated presenter who also doubles as the Chairman, SWA  thanked management of CrimeWorld for deeming him qualified for the honour adding, “ I must say that I am overwhelmed by this honour which I least expected. Sometimes, you do your thing and you do not know that people are watching; so we are just doing what we think we know how to do best. I must thank the management of CrimeWorld for this great honour and to say that we have been challenged the more, to put in our very best.”
